Bill Joseph - Player of the Year
Trophy
At the end of each calendar year, this trophy is presented to the player
who has earned the most number of masterpoints throughout the year playing
in those events selected by the Board of Directors as 'eligible' events.
The award is in honor of Bill Joseph a past president of Unit 106 (1960-1961)
and an outstanding member of Unit 106 during his lifetime. Although there
are normally five or six categories of masterpoint levels for which players
receive individual trophies, this award is presented to the player who earns
the most number of points for the year, irrespective of the masterpoint
tier in which that person has competed.
This trophy is presented at the Annual Dinner with the name of the current
recipient engraved on it. Normally that person keeps the trophy for one
year and returns it for engraving for the next year's recipient.
